Who are Lace Rescue?
Northants Rally Safety
is a voluntary Motorsport Medical & Rescue Organisation. Our Rescue Ambulance
is operated under the call-sign of Lace Rescue.
Formed over 25 years ago to promote safety;
predominantly in Motorsport Events, starting as Rally
Marshals and Rally Radio operators, we progressed to setting up a Stage Safety Unit
(SSU), then onto a Rally Rescue Ambulance, we currently attend around
35 - 40 events a year around the UK. We are self funding, raising monies from
donations, raffles etc.
We are registered with the Motor Sport Association (MSA).
We are also the Civil
Service Motor Associations' (CSMA) only registered Rally Rescue Ambulance and it
is via them where the Lace Radio Call-sign originated.
The crew are all volunteers and originate
from a variety of backgrounds including the Professional Emergency Services, all
having the same objective of promoting Motorsport Safety.
Lace Rescue have a current staffing level
of 10 persons, 8 of whom are fully qualified and 2 who are
trainees. All staff are licensed and registered with the MSA. In addition to the MSA requirements for licensing, staff train regularly in First Aid, Fire Fighting and Rescue and Extrication Techniques.
We have on board some of the most up to date Rescue and Extrication Equipment.
We work closely with other organisations within the motor-sports group including Rally Doctors and Rally Recovery Units.
